The Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Program of the Charles University Clinic for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology received prestigious European accreditation ISCT-Europe & EBMT (JACIE). Accreditation was supported by the Czech Hematology Society ČLS JEP.
The JACIE Joint Accreditation Commission is the only official body in Europe for the accreditation of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cell therapy. Through voluntary professional accreditation, he supports high-quality medical and laboratory care for patients.
This accreditation is a process in which trained foreign experts assess compliance with pre-established standards for the functioning and implementation of the transplant program of the considered center. Attention is paid not only to the quality of assistance provided, but also to the strategy for continuous improvement of established procedures. JACIE accreditation is a means by which the center can demonstrate that it has achieved the required level of practice in accordance with agreed professional standards, and confirms that the Center has an effective quality management system for medical care that meets international standards.
Preparation of centers for accreditation requires large financial and time costs of personnel. The condition for accreditation is not only the professional, material and personnel readiness of the comprehensive program (clinical workplace, sampling location, outpatient treatment, certified laboratories), but also sufficient long-term experience.
Prestigious international accreditation simplifies access to international clinical trials, which make it possible to bring the results of medical research into their clinical practice. Only about 230 centers are accredited in the JACIE system In the European Society of Transplantation (EBMT). The Transplant center at Motol University Hospital is the only accredited center for transplantation in children in Central and Eastern Europe, with the exception of a similar center in Vienna, Austria.
